Alfred Proetta, of Deer Park, NY, a devoted 25-year employee The NYC Transit Authority and a hardworking employee of President Container, passed away on March 15, 2024, at the Long Island State Veterans Home. He was a proud Korean War Veteran known for his strength of will and independence.
Born on January 26, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, Alfred led a remarkable life filled with dedication and passion. His love for Westerns and admiration for Clint Eastwood showcased his unique personality. An avid hunter and shooter, Alfred found solace in the great outdoors.
Alfred Proetta is survived by his loving son John (Pat) Proetta. He is reunited in heaven with his dear parents Vito and Anna Proetta, and his 6 Siblings. Alfred's faithful companion Brandy, the beloved family dog, brought him joy throughout the years.
Friends and family are invited to honor Alfred's life at the visitation services on March 18, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY. A final gathering will take place on March 19, 2024, at the same location at 11:00 AM before proceeding to Calverton National Cemetery for burial at 12:30 PM.
Alfred Proetta's legacy of dedication, independence, and love for his family will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
