Deer Park, New York

Angela M. Mento, a beloved member of the Deer Park community, has passed away at the age of 87. She was born on April 18, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York to her parents, Michael and Marie. Angela led a remarkable life and leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Angela dedicated her career to serving the students of the Deer Park Union Free School District. As a devoted guidance department secretary, she played an instrumental role in shaping the minds of countless young individuals.

Beyond her professional achievements, Angela was known for her undeniably blatantly honest nature and her beautiful voice. She had a unique ability to bring people together with her vibrant personality and warm smile. Angela possessed an innate talent for making everyone feel seen and heard. Whether it was lending an empathetic ear or sharing joy through her silent laughter, she took care of everyone around her with unwavering love and compassion.

Cooking was one of Angela's greatest passions in life. Through her culinary skills, she brought joy
and comfort to those fortunate enough to taste her creations. Her friends and family were always blessed with delicious meals that were prepared with love. Angela's kitchen became a gathering place where memories were made, stories were shared, and hearts were nourished.

Angela's proudest accomplishments extended beyond her career and culinary talents. She found immense joy in being a devoted wife to the Late Salvatore Mento and embraced the role of mother to Charles Mento and Maria Trapp (John) wholeheartedly. Her unconditional love knew no boundaries as she supported their dreams and celebrated their achievements.

In addition to her children, Angela leaves behind cherished memories with her granddaughter Nicolette Hallahan (Reese), and granddaughter Ariana Trapp (boyfriend Justin). The love between Angela and her grandchildren was palpable - she relished every moment spent with them and treasured the bond they shared.

Family remained at the core of Angela's life, and precious moments were shared with her sister Lucyann Caldone and brother-in-law Frank Caldone. Their love and support provided Angela with a strong foundation throughout her journey, and their memories will forever be etched in their hearts.
