Anthony Lombardi, 45, formerly of Lake Luzerne, NY passed away on Tuesday, November 16 at his home in Queens. Anthony was born on November 10, 1976 in Long Island. He graduated from Hadley-Luzerne High School in 1994, where he was a member of the basketball, baseball, soccer & tennis teams. While in college, Anthony spent his summers as a camp counselor at the Double H Hole-in-the-Woods Ranch in Lake Luzerne. He continued his education at SUNY Plattsburgh, where he earned two Master's degrees in Special Education and Reading. Always up for an adventure, Anthony spent a year teaching English in Japan. He was a well-loved teacher in PS219 in New York City for almost two decades. While Anthony had a successful and fulfilling career, his greatest loves and achievements were his children John & Marina, whom he leaves behind, as well as his wife, Joanna Pikramenos Lombardi. He will be dearly missed by his parents, Edward & Antoinette Lombardi of Lake Luzerne, his brothers and their wives- Matthew & Kristen Lombardi of Moreau, NY and Joseph & Patricia Lombardi of Tewksbury, MA. He was the “fun-cle” (fun uncle) of Dominic, Philip, & Amelia Lombardi. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Anthony & Rosalie Mulé. Additionally, Anthony leaves behind his father-in-law, Ioannis (John) Pikramenos, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Anthony loved to travel, ride his motorcycle, bet on the horses in Saratoga, and play a lot of golf. He enjoyed times at the lake where he could connect with nature. Anthony will always be remembered for his humor, his kindness, and his love for his family.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 19 from 6:30-9:30pm at Mangano Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY. Calling hours will also be held for those upstate on Monday, November 22 from 6:00-9:00pm at the Regan & Denny Funeral Home on Route 9 in South Glens Falls. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 23 at 10:00AM at St. Michael’s Church in South Glens Falls.
A scholarship will be set up in Anthony’s name. Details will be shared soon.
