Anthony J. LaPera, born in Brooklyn, NY in 1938, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024 in West Islip, NY. He lived a life characterized by dedication to both his family and his career.
Anthony had a successful career as Manager Staffing & Production for Pan American Flight Operations at JFK Airport, where he was known for his leadership and commitment to excellence. After Pan Am ceased operations, he successfully transitioned to Project Management at Dreyfus Institutional Services. He cultivated a strong professional reputation that reflected his hard work and integrity. Additionally, he achieved academic success, holding a bachelor's degree which served as a foundation for his career and personal growth.
He is survived by his son, Christopher LaPera and his wife Ewa, and his cherished granddaughter, Samantha. They will remember him not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his warmth and love as a father and grandfather. Anthony is preceded in death by his beloved wife, the late Carol M. LaPera, who was a significant part of his life, and by his parents, Joseph and Anna LaPera. Their memories continue to live on through the cherished stories and values they instilled in him.
A Mass honoring Anthony’s life will be held on November 2, 2024, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, located at 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729, starting at 10:15 AM and concluding at 11:15 AM. Following the funeral mass, family and friends will proceed to Saint Charles Cemetery, where Anthony will be laid to rest with his beloved Carol. All who knew him are invited to celebrate his life and legacy.
