Anthony J. Santo, a cherished musician, special education teacher, and devoted family man, passed peacefully on November 19, 2024, in West Babylon, NY. Born on October 9, 1932, in Queens, NY, Anthony lived a life filled with artistry, dedication, and love for his family and community.
Armed with a bachelor's degree, he made significant contributions to the education sector as a special education teacher at Smithtown schools, where he tirelessly supported and inspired his students. Anthony's love of music was a defining element of his character; he was not just a talented musician but also a source of joy and comfort for many who experienced his artistry.
Throughout his life, Anthony proudly served in the Army, exemplifying the values of dedication and service that remained with him long after his military experience. He was known for his remarkable skills as an auto mechanic and took pride in every aspect of his work.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his son Paul Santo and his son Lee Santo, who is married to Kerri, along with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with another grandchild on the way. Anthony's family was central to his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, nurturing a legacy of love and support. He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Mary Santo, who instilled in him the values that guided him throughout his life.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY. A graveside service will take place the following day, Saturday, November 23, at 12 PM at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY, where Anthony will be laid to rest.
Anthony J. Santo will be remembered for his musical talents, his commitment to education, and above all, his undeniable love for his family. His warmth and spirit will forever echo in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
