Arthur J. Funk, born May 26, 1940, in Queens, NY, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, at the age of 84. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Art will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Art is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Susanna Alcaro Funk; his children, Christine Doherty, Michelle Setters, Michael Funk (Blanca), and Rachel Ullman (Nicholas); and his sister, Michelle Dragone (Thomas). He was a proud and caring grandfather to Ryan (Tiffany), Sean, Tyler (Jennifer), Liam, Chloe, Maya, Luke, and Joseph, and a beloved great-grandfather to Nolan and Thomas.

After graduating from Fairfield University in Connecticut in 1961, Art built a distinguished 44-year career as a Logistics Engineer at Grumman Aerospace. He took great pride in contributing to historic projects, including the Lunar Excursion Module and the E-2C Hawkeye Early Warning Aircraft.

Art was passionate about cars and a founding member of the Long Island Super Sport Team (LISST), a club for 1994–1996 Chevrolet Impala owners. He served on the Executive Board, fostering friendships that enriched his life.

One of Art’s greatest joys was spending time at the family’s lakeside retreat on Cossayuna Lake in the Adirondack foothills. Whether enjoying the company of neighbors who became dear friends or savoring quiet moments on the porch with an evening cocktail, the lake was his sanctuary.

Art will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and devotion to his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
