August J. Schaefer, III, bid farewell to this world on the 7th of August, 2024 at 90 years old. He was born on April 14, 1934, in Amityville, New York to his parents August, II and Margaret. Serving as a Veteran from 1953 to 1957, August carried his sense of duty and honor into all facets of his life.
With a deep love for entertaining, his performances brought joy and laughter to many, solidifying his legacy in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of experiencing his talents.
August was not just known for his professional endeavors, but also for the warmth and kindness he exuded in his personal life. Described as kind and caring, he cherished spending time with his beloved wife, Maryanne Schaefer, their children, and his five grandchildren.
His presence will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends, including his loving wife Maryanne Schaefer, his daughter Lynne and her husband Richard Holmes, his daughter Alison Crutchley, his grandchildren Jade, Alissa, Justin, Tyler, and Cassidy.
August is reunited in eternal peace with his father, the Late August Schaefer, his mother, the Late Margaret, and his son, the Late Christopher. Although they may have departed this world before him, their spirits will forever live on in the memories and hearts of those who knew and loved them.
A Memorial Visitation to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of August J. Schaefer, III, will be held on the 19th of August, 2024, at Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, New York. The visitation will begin at 6:00 PM and conclude at 9:00 PM, allowing friends and family to pay their respects and share their fond remembrances of a man who touched the lives of many with his gentle soul and enduring spirit. A prayer service will be held that same day at 7:30 PM.
As we gather to bid farewell to August, we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind and the love that will continue to guide us in his absence. He will be remembered not only for his talents and accomplishments but for the love and light he brought into the world. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
