Barbara Ann Calcagnini

Barbara Ann Calcagnini, born on May 10, 1939, in Manhattan, New York to her parents Henry and Kathleen, passed away on January 17, 2025. Throughout her life, Barbara was known for her kindness and caring nature, exemplifying a deep love for her family that defined her character. She nurtured her relationships with a warmth that touched everyone around her.

Barbara is survived by her beloved son, Frank Scalia, and her two cherished grandsons, Tim Scalia and Frank Scalia. The love she shared with her family was evident in the countless moments they spent together, creating a legacy of fond memories that will be treasured by those who knew her.

Throughout her life, Barbara found joy in the simple pleasures. An enthusiastic fan of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, she was always ready to test her knowledge and enjoy these beloved television programs. The news was a constant presence in her home, reflecting her interest in the world around her.

Barbara held a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to the numerous stray cats she cared for. Her kindness towards animals mirrored the compassion she showed to everyone she encountered.

Visitation services to honor Barbara's life will be held at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729, on January 24, 2025. The first visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, followed by an evening visitation from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A mausoleum entombment will follow on January 25, 2025 at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:00 AM.
