Beverly J. Paulsen

May 6, 1928 — September 6, 2022

In Dix Hills, New York, with family by her side, our beloved mother and grandmother, Beverly

Jane Mayers Paulsen left us on September 6, 2022 to join her late husband, Louis A. Paulsen.

Beverly was born in San Francisco, California

on May 6, 1928 and was a proud third generation San Franciscan.

Beverly graduated from Lincoln High School and then went on to be the first member of her

family to attend college, graduating from San Francisco City College. She would frequently

recount her escapades with her friends, Alice Clayton Lahl (dec) and Phyllis Beetz

Barrows(dec), and growing up during World War II in San Francisco.

In 1967, Louis obtained a position in New York which resulted in the family move to Long Island

where Beverly has resided ever since. She had a rich and full life enjoying traveling the world

with her husband, Lou. Following his passing she continued traveling with family and friends

which provided her great joy.

Family dinners with cocktails and good food where she was surrounded by her children and

grandchildren brought her immense delight and contentment. Her fondness of Happy Hour and

her enjoyment of champagne or a Manhattan was well known. Beverly also found great

pleasure playing card and board games. She played a wicked game of Rummikub with family

and friends up until the end. She was also an active member of Deer Park Presbyterian Church

supporting the Angel Tree which Lou founded which provided Christmas gifts to the children of

interred inmates.

Beverly will be remembered for her profound love of animals, especially dogs. She now joins her

furry family members: Buddy, Daisy, Cassie, Mandy, Buffy, Wolf, Buffy and Dinah.

She was deeply grateful to Lori and Joe for opening their home to her during her last few

months. She enjoyed immensely every moment being surrounded by her family and the Vallario

furry family members, Fusilli and Luna, who provided her with joy, peace and constant

companionship, rarely leaving her side. Beverly and her family also are thankful for Hospice

and especially Diane, Bev’s aide, who provided loving care for Bev and support for the family

during this difficult time.

Beverly is survived by her daughters Kathleen Paulsen of California, Sandra Paulsen Grech

(John) of Fort Salonga, New York, Lori Paulsen Vallario (Joseph) of Dix Hills, New York and son

James Paulsen (Janice) of Lake Ronkonkoma, New York and grandson Paul Grech (Lauren),

and granddaughters Jessica Vallario (fiancée Kevin Donovan) and Leah Vallario.

You leave us with many happy memories.
