Carol M. Terry, a beloved member of the Riverhead community, passed away peacefully on November , 2024 at the age of 92. Born on November 14, 1931, in Riverhead, New York, Carol devoted her life to her family and her community.
A proud graduate of Riverhead High School in 1949, Carol began her career at Suffolk County National Bank, where she served with dedication as an assistant bank manager. Her commitment to excellence and service shone through in her professional life, earning her the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Carol treasured her relationships with her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love and guidance. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (David) Fedun and Donna Terry, and her daughter-in-law Irene Terry as well as her grandsons, Richard Terry and granddaughters, Katie Vaccaro, Rebecca Fedun, and Melanie Fedun, as well as her great-grandchildren, Audrey Vaccaro, Timothy Vaccaro, and Abigail Terry.
Among her proudest accomplishments were her long-standing memberships in the Veritas Rebekah Lodge No. 167 and the First Congregational Church in Riverhead. These organizations not only reflected her deep sense of community and faith but also became settings where she forged lasting friendships.
Carol's passing leaves a significant void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Richard Terry Sr., her son, Richard Terry Jr., and her sisters, Barbara Baugher, Beatrice Madison, Elizabeth Fischer, Juanita Savage, and Evelyn McKenney. Together, they will be remembered fondly.
The community will gather to honor Carol's life during visitation at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY, on November 12, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A prayer service will take place on November 13, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM at the same location, followed by her burial at Riverhead Cemetery at 11:45 AM.
Carol M. Terry's unwavering spirit, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will continue to inspire and resonate within the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in honor of Carol to the Northfork Animal Welfare Legue.
