Claire Barnave, a beloved home health aide known for her kind and caring nature, passed away on July 30, 2024 at 100 years old. She was born on December 28, 1923, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Throughout her life, Claire touched the hearts of many with her dedication caring for others. Her career as a home health aide was a true testament to her compassionate and nurturing personality. Beyond her profession, Claire found the greatest joy in spending time with her daughters often modeling and taking silly pictures. She also cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The memories Claire leaves behind will forever be treasured by her surviving family members: Yanick Barnave and Jocelyne Barnave (Daughters), William (his wife Claudia) Petrez and Joey Rodriguez (Grandsons), Solange Petrez, Jace Petrez, and Julez Petrez (Great-grandchildren), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom will carry on her legacy of love and kindness. Claire is predeceased by her son the Late Raynold and her daughter the late Marie Michelle. 

A Mass to celebrate Claire's life will be held on August 17, 2024, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church in Deer Park, NY. The service will take place at 11:15 AM. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet directly at church no later than 11:00 AM. 

Claire Barnave will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy of compassion lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
