Concetta Oliva, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on November 25, 2023. Connie was born on December 15, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to John and Grace Gargano. Connie was a generous and loving person who devoted herself to caring for all her family and friends throughout her entire life.
Connie was the loving wife of Thomas Oliva (deceased, 2014) and together they created a life full of love and happiness. With her endless devotion to family and friends, Connie touched the lives of so many and will always be remembered for her selfless compassion and giving. Connie will now join her husband and son (Thomas, deceased, 1979) in Heaven and is survived by her daughters, Marianne and Susan, her son-in-laws, Mark and Joseph, and her grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Julia, Olivia and Joseph.
Connie was the matriarch of her entire extended family. Whether it was someone in need or a celebration, Connie was always quietly behind the scene helping to make the best of any situation. Family and friends of Connie were always grateful and amazed at her ability to care for others.
Connie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those she leaves behind. Her care and devotion to family and friends will be a legacy that will inspire us all. As we gather to celebrate her wonderful life, let us joyously remember the selfless dedication and love she provided every day of her life.
Connie’s family and friends will gather to honor her life at Mangano Funeral Home at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY on November 30, 2023. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:30 pm and 7:00 – 9:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew’s Church in Dix Hills, NY on December 1, 2023 at 9:45 am. The burial will take place immediately thereafter at St. Charles Cemetery, East Farmingdale, NY.
