Dashan J. Briggs

Technical Sergeant Dashan J. Briggs December 28, 1987 – March 15, 2018 of Port Jefferson Station, formerly of Riverhead, passed away on March 15, 2018 in Iraq during a military operation. Dashan was a staff sergeant in the New York Air National Guard 106th Rescue Wing. He was promoted posthumously to the rank of technical sergeant. He graduated from Riverhead High School in 2007, where he played football and lacrosse.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca; his son Jayden and daughter Ava; his grandparents Eli and Rose Briggs; his grandmother, Gloria Smith; his brother Gregory Briggs Jr.; his sisters Heather Young and Daja Young; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Meridele Karen.
Visitation will be at the Westhampton Beach Volunteer Fire Department on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm.
Funeral service will be held at the Fire Department on Thursday, March 29, 2018, 10:00 am.
Interment to follow the service on Thursday in Calverton National Cemetery.
