Diane Patricia Nicolellis (née Zorn), born April 7th, 1944, passed away on October 24th, 2023 at the age of 79, surrounded by loved ones at Whitney Center nursing home. She was the beloved wife to John, who sadly passed away in 2019. They were married for over 50 years. Loving mother to Deborah Nicolellis (Lori Wallace), Kevin (Kristina) Nicolellis and Amy Nicolellis. Beloved sister to Norma. Grandmother to Alex and Brian and step-grandmother to Hannah Cheyenne Diaz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Robert Zorn.
Diane supported her family as a homemaker and mother, but earlier in her career she worked as a bookkeeper. Later she served as a parent helper at the local elementary school and as a co-leader in Girl Scouts with her best friend Penny. She was an avid reader of her favorite Newsday newspaper and would read them front-to-back. She was a fan of her TV shows, especially American Idol, and was famous for her home-made tomato sauce, stuffed cabbage, and sausage stuffing. Diane very much enjoyed traveling on cruise ships with her husband, logging multiple trips to Alaska, Scandinavia, the Caribbean, and the Panama Canal.
She met her beloved husband at a Scout dance as a teenager and enjoyed going to Boy Scout council dinners with him in their later years.
