Dolores Aguanno, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 6, 2024, in Bay Shore, NY. She was born on September 4, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY to doting parents, Anthony and Margaret Lucchese.
Dolores dedicated many years of her life working as a Secretary at BOCES in Suffolk County. Her commitment to her profession was unwavering, and she always went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Dolores's professionalism and attention to detail were greatly admired by her colleagues.
Outside of work, Dolores cherished spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife to her late husband Michael Angelo Aguanno. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and countless cherished memories. Dolores's daughters Mary Colletti and Margaret Tepedino were the light of her life. She showered them with unconditional love and support throughout their lives, she is predeceased by her late son Anthony. Dolores took tremendous pride in being a grandmother. She delighted in watching her nine grandchildren grow into remarkable individuals. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter whenever they visited. Dolores's heart expanded even further when she became a great-grandmother to twelve beautiful souls. She treasured every moment she spent with them and relished in the joy they brought into her life.
In addition to her immediate family, Dolores is survived by many extended family members and friends who will dearly miss her kind-hearted nature, infectious laughter, and gentle spirit.
To honor Dolores's life and pay tribute to the wonderful person she was, visitation services will be held at Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home on Saturday, February 10th from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Additional visitation services will take place on Sunday, February 11th from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The funeral mass will be held on February 12th at Saint Matthew in Dix Hills, NY, starting at 9:45 AM. Following the mass will be a procession to Saint Charles Cemetery for burial.
Dolores Aguanno will forever be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family. Her kind and selfless nature touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and warmth that will continue to inspire generations to come. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
