Edward G. Phelan, age 77, a Brooklyn native, attended St. Thomas Aquinas as a child. Ed owned a bar in Brooklyn, now known as the Mariners Inn. He made many friends there before moving to Deer Park, NY where he raised his family. Pop is a proud Navy Veteran, and served from 1961-67.
Most recently Edward resided in Viera, Florida with his love Marci. They have enjoyed the last 11 years in Florida where they have many friends and family who will miss him dearly.
One of Edwards' great joys was golf. He and Marci had a beautiful view of the 1st hole on the property where they lived. Pop played all over the country with his friends and family, and on 1/4/2019 at Turtle Creek Golf course in Rockledge, FL, he snagged a hole in one! What a happy day that was for him!
Pop will be remembered for his sense of style, always making an entrance to any gathering he attended! He always remembered everyones Birthdays and Holidays. Pop loved his grandchildren dearly, and was very proud of them. He is survived by his children, Timothy, Brian, Edward, and Eileen, and his 6 grandchildren Albert, Jacob, Stephen, Rachel, Kevin, and Addison.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to his favorite charity:
