George Anthony Nappi

George Anthony Nappi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on July 20, 1934, in Queens, New York to his parents Onofrio and Emanuella, George lived a life marked by love, devotion, and service.

George graduated high school and served honorably for four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, where he utilized his skills as an airplane mechanic. This experience shaped his strong work ethic and laid the groundwork for a compassionate and dedicated approach to all aspects of his life. George was a former President of the Sons of Italy in Deer Park.

His warm spirit was evident in the way he cherished his family. Married for 64 years to his late wife, Ann Marie, George was a constant source of support and encouragement for his family in every endeavor. He was a devoted father to his son, Gregory Nappi, and his daughters, Diane Schmidt and Laura Cintorino. George took great pride in being a grandfather to John Jr., Matthew, Toniann, and Danielle, touching their lives with his boundless love and wisdom.

George’s zest for life was reflected in his passions. He loved to fish, and many cherished memories were made on the water. He also enjoyed playing and dealing craps, bringing joy and camaraderie to those around him. His vibrant personality and generosity meant that he was always there for family—ready to lend a helping hand, share a laugh, or offer a listening ear.

George is survived by his children and grandchildren, as well as his sister, Linda DeMartis. He is preceded in death by his wife Ann Marie, his brother, Gregory Nappi, his son-in-law, John Schmidt, and his parents, Onofrio and Emanuella.

In celebrating George's remarkable life, we remember a man who embodied love, family, and resilience. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will continue to live on through the lives he touched.
