Jerry Gioia was born in Brooklyn New York. Married Zina Amato June 1956, joined the NYPD in1965 and retired NYPD Detective 1986. The Family moved to Long Island in 1971 and later Jerry and Zina retired to Florida in 2005.
Jerry and Zina had two daughters Diane Gioia-Bailey and Maria Gioia-Antonetti. Their two Sons-in-law Michael Bailey and Tony Antonetti. They have a total of three
grandchildren Jennifer & Michael, and Angela.
Jerry was proud of his family and nothing mattered more to him than his family. Jerry was the family Jokester and Prankster. He never let a day go by when with his
grandkids, to tell a joke, pull a prank, or create an activity or event out of thin air. He was the crossword puzzler, family ‘foodie’, entertainer of family and friends,
coordinator of picnics and get together’s, casino loving, creator of keepsakes, family photos, music, and videographer.
Whether it was a Holiday we celebrated, a Vacation near or far, or a quick Backyard BBQ, or Basement get together, Jerry always had games to play, and created
memories we all can share for years to come.
