Wendy was born on May 18th, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, but moved to Brooklyn with her family soon after. She grew up in Midwood neighborhood with her two younger sisters, Kathy and Maggie. Wendy was a talented musician an dancer. In1986, she moved to Riverhead to raise her three sons, Daniel, Tommy and Mickey. She was active in the churches of St. John the Evangelist RC Church and St. Isidore RC Church, in Riverhead, and even rang in the choir. She gave piano lessons in her home, taught ballet at the Jamesport Community Center, owned a bed and breakfast in Upstate New York, worked privately as a tailor, volunteered at Peconic Bay Hospital, and recently retired on disability from Riverhead School District, where she was a cafeteria server. She loved TV and movies like Downtown Abbey and Blazing Saddles, and musicians like Sting and James Taylor. What she loved most though was her family, especially her only grandson, Henry. Being a grandmother was life achievement, and she was able to have five years of enjoyment from it. Sadly, Wendy had a frail heart, probably because she poured out so much love from it. She passed away on November 21st as a result of a heart attack. We will love, miss and remember her forever.
