Ilse C. Hoffmeister

Ilse Charlotte Hoffmeister of Middle Island passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019, at
Water’s Edge Nursing Home in Port Jefferson. She was 97 years old.
Born in Germany on June 5, 1922, Ilse did secretarial work before coming to America in 1952.
She married Walter Hoffmeister in 1953 and they had two sons together. Ilse was a homemaker and an exceptionally talented artist. She loved spending time with family and friends, and traveling with her mother, Emma. Ilse enjoyed participating in her neighborhood Birthday Club for 25 years. She belonged to a local Art Club and would often go on location outdoors with her group to paint and draw.
Ilse was predeceased by her husband September 29, 1976. She is survived by Walter and Peter (Nancy) and two grandchildren, Peter (Kathleen) and Christina.
Cremation and burial at Washington Memorial Cemetery, Mount Sinai, N.Y.
