James J. Dunn

James J. Dunn, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 92 in Ridge, New York. Born on July 23, 1932, in Oceanside, New York, he lived a life marked by dedication to his family and service to his country.

James served valiantly in the military from 1949 to 1953, a testament to his commitment and patriotism. After his service, he transitioned into a life filled with professional pursuits and cherished moments with those he loved.

He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Woodard (Jeffrey), and his grandchildren: Robert, Samantha, Alyssa, Joseph, and Shannon; and great-grand daughter Netta. Each of them carries forward James's spirit and love, fostering the values he imparted throughout his life.

James was predeceased by his wife Eileen F. Dunn in 2020, his son, James J. Dunn Jr., his father, James J. Dunn, and his mother, Regina Wright. The memory of these family members, along with their influence on his life, will forever remain a part of his legacy.

The community is invited to honor James's life and memory during the following services. A visitation will be held on January 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island, located at 640 Middle Country Road, Middle Island, NY. A memorial service will take place on January 14, 2025, starting at 10:30 AM at St. Marks RC Church, situated at 105 Randall Road, Shoreham, NY. Following the memorial service, an inurnment will occur at Calverton National Cemetery, beginning at 11:30 AM.

James J. Dunn will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched. His legacy endures through the love of his family and friends.
