Janice C. Sheroff

Janice Caroline Sheroff, 67, of Deer Park, NY, passed away peacefully on July 2nd 2023. Janice, daughter of Thomas and Carol Alber and wife of the late David Sheroff, was born on December 6th, 1955. A loving mother, she leaves behind her son, Thomas Sheroff, her daughter, Amanda Smith, her son in law Scott Smith, her grandson Luke Frederick Smith, and an army of porcelain dolls and nutcrackers to keep them company.

After graduating Wellington C. Mepham High School, she spent many years working at the Bellmore Public Library until her daughter was born, and remained home with her before proudly taking the next step in her life to co-own a vitamin store, A-1 Herbs and Vitamins, with her husband David.

At the store, she always arrived in a festive dress and provided laughter, smiles, and incredible memories to everyone. She provided a well paying job to all family and friends who needed one, as long as they abided by her FarmVille item requests on Facebook. She retired in 2015.

Janice enjoyed dancing like it was still the 80s, crocheting, reading, watching Supernatural, and the beach. She loved flamingos, The Monkees, M&Ms and Elvis. She loved playing card games and continually kicking everyone’s butts in Rummikub. No matter her age or her mobility restrictions towards the end, she said “nothing will stop me from shimming my shoulders” to the music.

The wake will be held from 10am to 1pm on Sunday, July 9th, with a memorial procession to follow, at Mangano Family Funeral Homes, Inc. 1701 Deer Park Ave. Deer Park, NY 11729.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time. Janice will be remembered for the radiance and positive energy she brought to all of our lives.
