Joan M. Day

Joan M. Day of Ridge, age 89. Loving wife of the late Eugene. Cherished mother to Eugene (Debra) Day, Warren (Michelle) Day, Joan Marie (the late William) Delaney, and Karen Bryan. Adored grandmother of Danielle, Jessie, Desiree, Richie, Pamela, Jason, Billy, Leah, and Morgan. Treasured great-grandmother of Vincent, Madelyn, Mairead, Tanner, Gianna, Maeve, Liam, and Michael. Dearest sister of Louis and Barbara.

Joan's parents came to Ridge in the 30's. Joan was the oldest Original Ridge Resident. She attended the One Room School house as a student. Joan and her sister Barbara were instrumental in preserving the one room school house and had it moved to the Smith Estate, where is sits today. She was very involved in the Ridge Civic Association. Joan worked for years at the Board of Elections and Longwood Central School District. She was a boy scout den mother and participated in girl scouts. Joan passed away peacefully at her residence on October 28, 2019.
