John F. Brophy, known affectionately as Jack, was a remarkable individual whose life was filled with passion, dedication, and love. He was born on September 1, 1943, in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn. Sadly, he departed this world on June 30, 2023, at the Kanas Center.

Jack had an illustrious career that revolved around his deep love and respect for nature. He created a successful business centered on moving trees and played a pivotal role in preserving their beauty and majesty. His commitment to this unique endeavor brought joy not only to himself but also to all those who admired nature's magnificence.

But Jack's impact on the world extended far beyond his professional achievements. As the oldest of six children and the Rock of his family, he leaves behind a legacy as a loving husband, father, provider, and friend. He is married to Marie Brophy, and their bond served as a shining example of unwavering commitment and support.

His children Catherine, Abygaele, Wende Cohen, John (son) and Daniel ( his late son) were fortunate to have Jack as their father. He nurtured them with warmth and guidance throughout their lives, ensuring they had the tools they needed to succeed. His devotion to his family was exemplary—he was always there with open arms and a heart full of love.

The love extended to his grandchildren as well—Clayton, Sarah, Emily, Kristen, and Henry—who adored their grandpa with all their hearts. Jack's wisdom and kindness resonated deeply with each of them as they navigated life's ups and downs.

Jack found solace in various hobbies that brought him immense joy. Golf was one such passion that helped him unwind while connecting with friends who shared the same enthusiasm. Additionally, he dedicated his time to raising guide dogs for the Smithtown Guide Dog Foundation—a noble endeavor that showcased his compassion for animals and commitment to making a difference.

Beyond his personal pursuits, Jack was an avid supporter of the New York Yankees. He did not just witness their victories and defeats, but rather lived and breathed every moment of their journey. His unwavering loyalty to the team was a testament to his dedication and passion.

In his early years, Jack served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps during the early 1960s. This experience instilled in him a deep sense of duty, commitment, and patriotism that guided him throughout his life. His military service shaped his character and reinforced his values of integrity and selflessness.

To honor Jack's memory, a visitation event will be held on July 7, 2023, at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead, New York. The visitation will take place in two sessions—the first from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by the second from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It is an opportunity for family, friends, and loved ones to pay their respects and celebrate the extraordinary life of this remarkable man.

As we bid farewell to Jack, we remember him for the immense love he showered upon his family, the kindness he extended to friends, and the passion he demonstrated in all aspects of his life. He leaves an indelible mark on our hearts—one that will continue to inspire us as we carry forward his legacy of love and devotion.

Jack's presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever remain alive within us. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he has touched countless lives with his unwavering love and generosity.
