John D. Diestel

John D. Diestel of Riverhead died on Aug. 12, 2021 at his home. He was 90 years old.

He was born on March 17, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to Odella Irene Rech and Peter August Diestel. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1954. He worked as an administrator of maintenance for Pan American Airlines at JFK Airport.

He is predeceased by his wife Betty J. He is survived by his children John ( the late Ellen), Diane (Karl) Johanson and Glenn, grandchildren Matthew Barba and Lindsay Barba and sister Glady Scovel.
