John "Jack" Walsh

October 7, 1932 — April 4, 2023

John J. Walsh, "Jack", 90 of Aquebogue, formerly of Smithtown, passed away April 4, 2023.

He served in the US Navy. and then served 28 years as a Nassau County Police officer, retiring as detective sergeant. After retirement he worked at Grumman Aerospace for 11 years. He was preceded in passing by his two brothers and two sisters.


He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Rita, his three loving children John Jr. (the late Nancy), Patricia Cummings (Keith) and James (Denise), brother Kevin, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Jack loved his golf game and rooting for his Yankees. Visitation Monday April 10, 2023 from 2-4:30 PM and 7-9:30 PM at the Tuthill Mangano Funeral Home Riverhead. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday April 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the St. Isidore's Roman Catholic Church in Riverhead. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery with Military Honors.
