John Palmeri

John Palmeri died peacefully in Huntington Hospital on November 16th, 2019 in Huntington, NY at the age of 81.
John is survived by his Wife Sonya, Children, James and Tammi Palmeri (spouse), Thomas and Karen Palmeri(spouse), Robert Palmeri; grandchildren, Jimmy, Alex, Lindsay and Jason Palmeri.
John was born on April 6th, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York to John Sr. and Mae Palmeri. He graduated from Babylon High School in 1956. He married Sonya Gill in 1959. The couple welcomed 3 children into their home and John set about teaching them everything that a great dad teaches. Sports, Auto mechanics and his passion building. Dad had construction flowing through his veins and was always quick with a solution or a plan to build or construct anything you needed. His children remember him for his kindness generosity and support as each pursued their individual career and family goals.
John was very active right to the end, an avid boatman and motorcyclist that enjoyed his retirement years. He truly enjoyed spending time with his friends and family to continue to teach and share his wisdom throughout his life. The lessons and wisdom that he has passed on to anyone that knew him are something to be cherished.
A wake is scheduled for November 20th, 2019 at Mangano Funeral Home Deer Park},
Wednesday November 20th 2:00-4:30 pm and 7:00-9:30 pm.
Funeral service will be held at Mangano on Thursday at 10:00 am, followed by a procession to Pinelawn Memorial Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate John’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The American Kidney Fund https://www.kidneyfund.org/ in John’s name.
