Joseph Anthony Pierro
April 2, 1927 — April 9, 2019
Joseph Anthony Pierro of Flanders, formerly of Manhattan, died April 9 at Southampton Hospital. He was 92.
He was born April 2, 1927, in Ozone Park to Luigi and Francesca (Beneduce) Pierro.
He attended New York Public Schools and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Pierro worked as a furniture finisher and in sales and delivery and was a “Joe” of-all-trades, who was employed by Meyers Department Store, Country Time Cycle, Carpet Man, Consumers Kitchens and Bath and Island Drug and Surgical.
On Sept. 18, 1948, he married Caterina Tripodi.
Predeceased by his sister, Connie Pierro Paladino and half-brother, Frank, he is survived by wife; his children Louis (Maureen Fabey), Joseph (Katherine), Lorraine and Robert; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
