Joseph Battagliese

With heavy hearts, we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Joseph Battagliese who passed away on June 22, 2024. Joseph was born on April 16, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York to his parents Angelo and Giovanna Battagliese. He was an engineer for the NYC Transit Authority, devoting his skills and passion to ensuring the smooth operation of the city's transit system.

Described as kind and caring, Joseph's warmth extended beyond his career into his personal life. He adored his wife, Geraldine Battagliese (Nee: Todisco), with a love that knew no bounds. Together, they created a beautiful family filled with love and joy.

Joseph cherished his family immensely and treasured every moment spent with them. His daughters, Joanne Corns, Angela Vernace, and Christine (her husband James) Hopper, meant the world to him. He was a loving grandfather to Jenelle, Jaclyn (her husband Carlos), Joseph (his wife Allison), Kristen, and a doting great-grandfather to Isaiah, Luciana, Antonio Joseph, Luca, and Logan.

A man of integrity and unwavering dedication to those he loved, Joseph's presence will be deeply missed but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The visitation services for Joseph will be held at Mangano Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 25th from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Closing prayers will take place for those who wish to pay their final respects at the same location on Wednesday, June 26th at 10:15 AM followed by a funeral mass at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church at 11:15 AM. An entombment will follow immediately after at Saint Charles Cemetery, East Farmingdale, New York.
