Joseph W. Lawrence, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a distinguished veteran, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, in Stony Brook, New York, at the age of 97. Born in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, on August 23, 1927, Joseph's life was marked by dedication to family, service, and an unwavering spirit. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1957, a testament to his commitment to defending the freedoms we hold dear. His military service not only shaped his character but also instilled in him values of discipline, honor, and perseverance. A devoted family man, Joseph is survived by his beloved children: Ann Schrage (Kevin), Michelle Lawrence, Mary Roberts (Don), Joseph Lawrence (Jackie), Patricia Lawrence-Saal, and Judy Limekiller (Robert). He is also survived by his five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was a source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love for each of them, and his legacy will continue through their lives.
