Katherine M. Olsen, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 15th, 2023, surrounded by her family. Katherine was born on April 27th, 1930, in Bronx, New York to Walter and Almira.
Katherine had a deep passion for education and pursued her high school diploma, laying a strong foundation for her future. She lived a fulfilling life focusing on her family that brought tremendous joy to her. She married the love of her life, William R. Olsen, and they had five wonderful children together - Janet (Bill) Sullinger, Karen (Lou) Buckbinder, Bill (Marie) Olsen, James Olsen, and Nancy (Tommy) Pfaff. Her devotion to her children was apparent as she instilled good values in them that have stayed with them till this day.
Katherine's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made sure to be there for every milestone in their lives. She took pride in watching them grow into responsible adults who make the world a better place by their sheer presence.
A visitation will be held at Deer Park- Mangano Family Funeral Home on Monday, June 19th from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Saint Patricks Episcopal on Tuesday, June 20th starting at 10:30 am immediately followed by the interment at Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Ave, Valhalla, NY 10595
Katherine is preceded in death by her husband William R. Olsen (2005), father Walter, and mother Almira. She is survived by her five children above mentioned; 13 grandchildren who she loved dearly, 6 great-grandchildren; and countless friends whose lives she touched.
With heavy hearts we say goodbye to Katherine M. Olsen but may we find comfort knowing that she lived a full and wonderful life surrounded by loved ones who will cherish the memories for years to come. Rest in peace, Katherine, you will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
