Laura Grace Bell

Laura Grace Bell, of Coram, age 67. Beloved wife of William A. Bell, Sr. Cherished mother of Shantay, Lauretta, William Jr. and the late Lashaun. Loving daughter of Catherine Mewborn and the late Leroy Sutton. Adored grandmother to Lashaun Bell, Brittney Jackson, Dylan Stewart, Kania Bell, Yakira Powell, Amari Langhorne, Aaliyah Bell, Lashaundra Bell, Jayden Bell and Mekhi Bell. Loving sister to Joyce (Jimmy) Lawson, Sharon Mewborn. Beloved Aunt of Molique Lawson and Rashaud Mewborn, Great Aunt to Malik Lawson. Laura is predeceased by her Aunt Eulamae Lofton, Uncle Junior Lofton, and grandmother Margaret Houston. Also, survived by a host of cousins from New York, and North Carolina. Laura served in the US Army Reserve and completed basic training at USWACCS Fort McClellan, Alabama. She served in the 389th Finance Section as a Finance Specialist and in the 411 Engineering Brigade as a legal clerk. She was Honorably Discharged on May 4, 1978. Laura received a Certificate of Recognition from the Secretary of Defense for the service in the Cold War. She was recognized for promoting peace and stability for this nation and the people of this nation. Laura attended New York City Community College in downtown Brooklyn, where she received her AAS Degree in Accounting. Laura worked for the NYS Taxation and Finance Department as a Tax Auditor for 35 years.
