Lillian Bohleber, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, in Riverhead, New York. Born on December 8, 1925, in New York City, New York, Lillian lived a full and vibrant life, characterized by her loving personality and her passion for poetry.
Throughout her life, Lillian cultivated a profound love for writing poetry. She was incredibly proud of the poetry book she dedicated herself to creating, a testament to her artistic spirit and creative mind. Her words resonated with many, reflecting her deep insights and experiences.
Lillian was a devoted member of her family, which brought her immense joy. She is survived by her three sons, James Bohleber (Mary), Daniel F. Bohleber III (Maureen), and William P. Bohleber. As a loving grandmother, she leaves behind her grandchildren, Daniel IV (Lisa), Peter (Eryn), and Amy (Anthony Thomas), as well as her great-grandchildren, Eva, Cadence, Makayla, and Logan. Each family member carries a piece of her legacy forward, a living tribute to the love and guidance she provided throughout her life.
Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Bohleber III, and her beloved grandson, Christopher. She was also the daughter of Herman Young and Martha Bernstein, as well as the beloved sister of Shirley Young whose influence shaped the person she became.
Services to honor her life will be held at the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York. A graveside service will occur on February 24, 2025, at 12:30 PM.
Lillian Bohleber’s spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will be cherished by her family and friends for years to come.
