Lloyd W. Corwin Jr., a lifelong resident of Aquebogue, died December 12, 2017. He was 83 years old.
He was born March 19, 1934 to Lloyd and Minnie (Lewin) Corwin. He grew up on his family duck farm in Aquebogue with his surviving sister, Janet (Corwin) Wedel.
While gaining his education at Cornell University, he met his life long love, Paula (Wright) Corwin, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage this past September.
His life was devoted to the family’s Crescent Duck Farm in Aquebogue, on the property that 14 generations prior, Matthias Corwin purchased in the 1640’s. His love for family and farming thrived Crescent to continue the proud legacy as the last of Long Island’s iconic duck industry.
He enjoyed friends, family, travel and gardening. He once served as National Duck Council with a stint as President, along with the Soil Conservation Service and the Riverhead’s Lions Club. He was active in the Old Steeple Church in Aquebogue and the Aquebogue Cemetery
He is survived by his wife, Paula; sons, Douglas (Maura) and Jeffrey (Michelle) and a daughter Lucinda (Robert Jackson), all of Aquebogue, along with 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A wake is scheduled for visitors Friday, December 15 from 3 to 8 PM at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 16 at 11 AM at the Old Steeple Community Church in Aquebogue.
Memorial donations may be made to the Old Steeple Memorial Fund.
