It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorraine Montelione, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who left us on November 6, 2024, at the remarkable age of 89. Born on February 15, 1935, in the Bronx, New York to her parents Bernard and Carmela. Lorraine was a shining light in all of our lives, capturing the hearts of many with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support.
Lorraine dedicated many years of her life to her career Shorewood Printing in Farmingdale, NY, embodying a diligent work ethic that inspired those around her. Her life was one filled with beautiful experiences, but it was within her family that her greatest joys lay. She lovingly resided in her cherished home for an incredible 57 years, creating a sanctuary of love and laughter.
As the center of her family, Lorraine found immense happiness in playing games with her grandchildren. She was not only a loving mother to her sons, Guy and his wife Judy Montelione, Gary and his wife Dena Montelione, and her daughters Donna Montelione and Carolyn Cipriano, and the Late Frankie Montelione and his wife Janice, but she also delighted in teaching her grandkids the little joys of life. The legacy of her warm, nurturing spirit lives on through her 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, each of whom carry fond memories of her playful laughter and sweet presence. Lorraine is predeceased by her husband, Frank A. Montelione (1986).
Lorraine was a beautiful woman, both inside and out. She had a glow that could brighten the darkest days, a kindhearted nature, and an undeniable charm. Known for her culinary skills, her family will forever cherish the aromas of her famous lasagna and comforting chicken soup that filled the home. She was also an avid casino enthusiast, relishing the thrill of the slots, and her extremely sharp mind kept her engaged with the world, as evidenced by her joy in using her Facebook account well into her later years.
In remembering Lorraine, we celebrate the beautiful essence of her being—a supportive, loving mother, and a friend who touched many lives with her sweetness. Though we mourn her loss, we are forever grateful for the memories we created together and the love she shared so abundantly.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on November 11, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY.
