Lorraine Montuori

Lorraine Montuori, a beloved member of the community and a dedicated Pediatric Social Worker at the Hospital for Special Surgery, passed away on September 1, 2023, in New York, NY. She was born on May 10, 1963, in Queens, NY. With profound sadness, we remember the life and legacy of Lorraine.

Lorraine's career as a Pediatric Social Worker was characterized by her unwavering commitment to the well-being of children. Her tireless efforts to advocate for their needs and provide support during challenging times touched the lives of countless families. Lorraine's gentle and compassionate nature made her an invaluable asset everywhere she went.

Her educational achievements were exemplified by her Masters in Social Work degree. Lorraine's dedication to continuous learning allowed her to apply the latest knowledge and techniques in her profession effectively. She constantly sought opportunities to broaden her skills and enhance her ability to make a difference in the lives of others.

Lorraine was known for her caring demeanor, kindness, and sense of humor. Her infectious laughter brightened every room she entered, bringing comfort to those around her. She had an undeniable talent for lifting spirits and spreading joy with her quick wit and playful personality. Anyone who knew Lorraine can attest that she possessed a remarkable ability to make people feel heard, understood, and loved.

Lorraine's family and friends were always at the center of her heart.  She is survived by her loving father Francis Montuori, devoted mother Anita Montuori, supportive brother Paul (Jennifer) Montuori, caring sister Diane Montuori, cherished niece Isabella, and beloved nephew Nicholas.

In honoring Lorraine's memory, two visitation services have been scheduled at Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY. The first visitation will take place on September 6, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The second visitation will be held on September 7, 2023, also from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A funeral mass will be held at Saint John Nepomucene Church on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11:15 AM.  These gatherings will provide an opportunity for family, friends, colleagues, and all those touched by Lorraine's extraordinary spirit to offer condolences and share memories.

As we reflect on Lorraine's exceptional life, we are grateful for the positive impact she made on everyone she encountered. Her compassion, dedication, and unwavering belief in the power of kindness will continue to inspire us all. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow at her untimely departure, we find solace in knowing that Lorraine's spirit lives on through the lives she touched.  Let us honor Lorraine by continuing her legacy of compassion and making a difference in the lives of others.  Lorraine Montuori will forever remain in our hearts as a beacon of love, kindness, and laughter.
