West Islip

Lorraine E. Tessar, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on November 28, 2023, in West Islip, New York.  She was born on September 5, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Alexander and Agnes Small.  Lorraine lived a life filled love, compassion, and dedication to her family.

Lorraine cherished spending time with her family. Her loving husband of many years, Rudolph "Rudy" Tessar, was the rock of her life.  Sadly he predeceased her years prior. Together they built a strong foundation of love and devotion that inspired all who knew them.

Lorraine's role as a mother was one she embraced with open arms. She is survived by her three children: Mark Tessar and his wife Barbara, Donna Koehler and her husband John, and Cindy Contos and her husband Paul. Lorraine's unwavering support and unconditional love shaped the lives of her children into the remarkable individuals they are today.

The joy of Lorraine's life was found in being a grandmother to six grandchildren: Mark Tessar and his wife Megan, Michael Tessar and his wife Erica, Mitchell Tessar, Shauna Sullivan and her husband Ryan, Kathryn Koehler, Paige Koehler, Paul Contos and his wife Brittany and Marina Orders and her husband Daniel. Each grandchild held a special place in Lorraine's heart; she showered them with affection and imparted wisdom that will forever guide them.

As a great-grandmother to Hannah, Jack, Michael, Owen, Evie, Axel, and Avery - who were the apple of her eye- Lorraine experienced immeasurable happiness. Their laughter filled her heart with pure joy as she watched them discover the wonders of life.

Family was the center of Lorraine's universe, and she was immensely proud of each member. Her family gatherings were filled with love and laughter.

Lorraine will always be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering love, and ability to make each person feel special. She leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be held dear by her family and friends. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire generations to come.
