Louis Kaleb

Louis Kaleb, born on August 8, 1946 in Croatia to loving parents, Marko and Alberta Kaleb, has sadly passed away on February 18, 2024, in Port Jefferson, NY.  He was a dedicated casket trimmer for Matthew's Casket Company in Hauppauge, NY, where his craftsmanship and attention to detail brought comfort to many grieving families.

Louis's commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family. He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn and children Brenda (Joseph) Astarita, Louis (Alison) Kaleb, Robert (Genene) Kaleb, Michele (Matthew) Dougherty, and Susan (Jeremy) King. His presence will also be deeply missed by his seven grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart. He is survived as well by his beloved sister, Melita.  

The visitation services to honor Louis will take place at the Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, with the first session from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and the second session from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects at this time.  A funeral mass will be held for Louis at Saint John the Evangelist R.C. Church, located at 25 Ocean Avenue, Center Moriches, on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 9:30am.  Following the funeral mass, a procession to St. Michael's Cemetery in Astoria, Queens will commence. 

In this time of grief, let us remember Louis for the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was cherished and loved by many.
