Louis P. Lanna, Jr.

Louis P. Lanna, Jr., a skilled mechanic in the airline industry with TWA, passed away on August 27, 2023, at the age of 102. He was born on July 11, 1921, in Brooklyn, New York, and spent his life dedicated to his craft and loved ones.

Born to proud parents Louis P. Lanna, Sr. and Grace Lanna, Louis Jr. grew up alongside his brother Matthew and sister Anna. From a young age, he showed an innate talent for understanding how things worked and a great enthusiasm for machines. This passion led him to pursue a career as a mechanic in the airline industry.

Louis Jr.'s commitment to excellence and unwavering work ethic were evident throughout his career with TWA. Whether it was troubleshooting complex mechanical issues or ensuring the safety and functionality of aircraft, he approached each project with meticulous attention to detail and unmatched dedication.

Beyond his impressive professional achievements, Louis Jr. will be remembered for the love and care he bestowed upon his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Mary for many joyful years. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Louis Jr.'s legacy will live on through his children Linda (Thomas) Laino, Richard (Eileen) Lanna, Lucille (Charles) Duffy, his grandchildren Donna, Marc, Michael, Karen, Melissa, Nicole, and Lauren, and great-grandchildren Joseph, Gianna, Michael, Madison, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Olivia, Ava, Julianna, and the late Sophia. He treasured each one of them dearly and took immense pride in watching them grow.

Family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Louis P. Lanna, Jr. The visitation events will take place on September 1, 2023, at the Mangano Family Funeral Home Of Middle Island in Middle Island, NY. The first visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by a second visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. 

A prayer service in memory of Louis Jr.'s remarkable life will be held on September 2, 2023, at the Mangano Family Funeral Home Of Middle Island from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

The final journey to eternal rest will take place at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY. The entombment ceremony is scheduled for September 2, 2023, with the procession commencing at 11:00 a.m.

Louis P. Lanna Jr., distinguished mechanic extraordinaire and devoted family man, will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
