Lucille Petrosino Fierro Mann, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, friend, and fond member of the community, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 5, 2024, in Middle Island, New York, (formerly of Shoreham, NY) at the age of 78. Born on December 14, 1945, in New York, NY, Lucille lived a life characterized by her unwavering dedication and love to her family and her passion for her work.
Lucille's journey began in New York City, then to Elmont, NY where she graduated High School before venturing into the world of entrepreneurship. Her hair salon was not just a workplace; it was a haven where she created lasting relationships with her clients, transforming hair while uplifting spirits, and making so many life-long friends. She took immense pride in her craft, showcasing her artistic talents and creating a welcoming environment for all who entered.
Lucille's absence will leave a profound void in the lives of her family and friends. She is survived by her loving daughter Christine Flynn and her husband Billy, her son Anthony Fierro and his wife Beverly, and her cherished three grandchildren: Amanda Fierro, Alexa Flynn, and Angie Fierro. Lucille also leaves behind her beloved sister Fran Hagemann and her husband Ken, her brother-in-law Arthur Mann, and his wife Annie, and her sisters-in-law Terry Petrosino, and Rose Fierro, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved late husband Kenneth Mann, her cherished first husband Anthony Fierro, and her parents Gerardo and Anna Petrosino. Lucille was also preceded in death by her brother Jerry Petrosino, who always held a special place in her heart.
Lucille had a fond love of flowers and working in her gardens at her house in Shoreham for so many years. She loved to sit outside on her porch, patio, and poolside, and watch all of the different birds come to her birdfeeders. While especially enjoying when Hummingbirds would visit, as she would always say it was one of her loved ones stopping by to say hello to send their love from the Heaven's above. In retirement, Lucille and Ken would love their summers at the Ocean in Shinnecock in their fifth wheel camper. She would especially light up when her three granddaughters would visit, and they would fly kites, take walks while looking for sea glass, barbeque, and roast marshmallows by the fire at night. She would hate when the girls went into the water and always said they should do the on the Long Island Sound side, and not the ocean, due to the rough waters. She absolutely adored her grandchildren. Lucille and Ken also looked forward to and loved their annual visits down to the Florida Keys to visit her sister, brother-in-law, and their friends.
Lucille’s vibrant spirit, kindness, and resilience will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.
