Lydia M. Stewart, a dedicated Nurse's Aide at Jamaica Hospital, has passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023, in Middle Island, NY. She was born on March 6, 1939, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Lydia's life is a testament to her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to helping others.
Lydia valued her role as a loving mother deeply and leaves behind a grieving family who will forever cherish their memories with her. Lydia is survived by her beloved children Carmella (Robert), Onofrio (Zoie), Candita (Richard), Stefano (Carol Ann), Robert Neil Torres. and Though Lydia may no longer be with us physically, she leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories shared with her 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The love and wisdom she imparted upon them will endure for generations to come.
Lydia began her career as a Nurse's Aide at Jamaica Hospital, where she selflessly cared for countless patients throughout the years. Her dedication and empathy made a profound impact on the lives of both patients and colleagues alike. Lydia's exceptional skills and warm presence provided comfort during difficult times. Her unwavering professionalism and kindness will be remembered by all who crossed paths with her. Lydia achieved an Associate's Degree, further exemplifying her passion for learning and making a difference in the lives of those she cared for.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island located at 640 Middle Country Rd in Middle Island, NY on November 16th, 2023. There will be two visitation events held that day; one from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM and another from 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM. A prayer service will be held on November 17th, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Mangano Family Funeral Home Of Middle Island. Following the service, Lydia will be laid to rest at Pinelawn Memorial Park located at 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY.
Lydia M. Stewart's life epitomized compassion and dedication. She embraced her role as a Nurse's Aide wholeheartedly and made an indelible impact on the lives she touched. Her unwavering commitment to caring for others will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the honor of knowing her.
