Madelyne Distefano, a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker, has passed away at the age of 86. She was born on May 1, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, and she peacefully departed from this world on July 29, 2023 at Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home in West Islip, NY.
Madelyne was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to her family. As a homemaker, she lovingly cared for her husband, children, and extended family members. Her nurturing spirit created a warm and inviting home that was always filled with love and laughter. Madelyne embraced the role of a devoted wife with grace and tenderness, ensuring that her husband felt supported and cherished throughout their years together.
Apart from being an exceptional spouse, Madelyne was a loving mother to her children. She always put their needs first and worked tirelessly to provide them with endless love and guidance. She instilled good values in her children: Rita (Phil) Ramistella, Marie Spina, Joseph Distefano, and Karen Distefano (daughter-in-law).
Madelyne's legacy extended beyond her immediate family as well. Her late son Anthony and her Late husband Joseph, held a special place in her heart, forever remembered for the indelible mark they left on her life. In addition to her children, Madelyne adored her grandchildren Nicole, Joseph, Michelle, Frank, Joseph, Michael, Daniel, and Rita. Their continued growth brought immense joy to her life.
As the years went by, Madelyne became blessed with great-grandchildren Faith, Gabriella, Samantha, and Ryan filled her days with laughter and happiness that only a grandmother could experience.
When reminiscing about Madelyne's life, it is impossible not to mention the countless memories she created with her family. She treasured these moments dearly and always made everyone feel valued and loved. Whether it was a family gathering, holiday celebration, or a simple day spent together, Madelyne's presence illuminated the room with her warmth.
Services to honor and remember Madelyne will be held on August 2, 2023 at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church located at 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729. A Mass will be conducted, beginning at 11:15 AM. Family and friends are invited to come and pay their respects during this solemn occasion. The burial will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
Madelyne Distefano's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. She touched the lives of many and her memory will live on through her family and friends.
