Martha Niveyro

Martha Niveyro of Riverhead, NY died peacefully surrounded by her family today, Thursday, March 3, 2016. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Martha immigrated to the United States in 1965. A loving wife and mother, she is survived by her husband Carlos Niveyro of Riverhead, NY, her daughter Mia Downs and her husband Larry Downs of Cream Ridge, NJ and son Robert Niveyro of Riverhead, NY. She is also survived by sisters Elba Scarnati and Dora Gonzalez, and extended family in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Martha was a loving grandmother to Hanna Downs, age 15, Charles Niveyro, age 12, and Alex Niveyro, age 9. An avid cook and gardener, Martha was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren and the family dogs. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and discovering new treasures on the north fork of Long Island alongside her husband of 54 years. Her verve and passion for family will be forever missed. The family will be receiving visitors from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 5th at Tuthill - Mangano Funeral Home located at 406 East Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901.
