Mary Mastronardi, a beloved school librarian, passed away on October 15, 2024, at the age of 86. Born in Jamaica, New York, on October 4, 1938 to her parents Dominick and Jennie. She dedicated her life to fostering a love of reading and learning among young minds.
Mary’s warmth and kindness were infectious. Known for her caring nature, she easily developed connections with everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression on those whose lives she touched. Her lovable personality made her a cherished figure not only within the walls of the library but also in her home and community.
Mary is predeceased by her loving husband Clodoaldo Mastronardi. She is survived by her daughter, Linetta, and her husband, Zachary Plevritis. Mary also leaves behind her sons, John, along with his wife Diva Mastronardi, and Claude, accompanied by his wife Shirley Mastronardi. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Marycecilia, Emily, Nicolemarie, and George, each of whom brought her great joy and pride. Each of her family members has been left with precious memories of her wisdom, laughter, and the loving support she provided throughout their lives.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on October 18, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. A Mass will be celebrated in her honor on October 19, 2024, at 10:15 AM at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, situated at 125 Half Hollow Road, Deer Park, NY 11729.
Mary Mastronardi leaves a profound legacy that will continue to inspire and guide those who knew her. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all those who had the privilege of witnessing her unyielding love and devotion.
