Michael P. Carucci

Michael Carucci was deeply devoted to his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife Gaetana Carucci (Nee: Bisogno), whom he shared a beautiful journey together. As a loving father, Michael leaves behind his children Linda Malone (Danny), Peter Carucci, Debora Bromm (Doug), Tinamarie Frohnhoefer (John), and Ralph Carucci (Patty). His role as a father and grandfather was one that he embraced with unwavering dedication and unconditional love.

The legacy of Michael's love extends to his twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Duke. His affectionate spirit will live on through them as they carry forward the values he instilled in each generation.

Michael also leaves behind his beloved sister, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

Michael was drafted into the US Army in 1944 during World War II. He joined the US Army Corps of Engineers where he served honorably for 2 years. His bravery and dedication to his country will always be remembered, and we are forever grateful for his sacrifice.

Michael began his career as a bus driver, transporting passengers throughout the bustling streets of New York City. He retired at age 50 and continued to work for local Long Island school districts as a bus driver. With his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor, he quickly became a familiar face to many who relied on his safe and reliable service. 

Michael joined the Deer Park F.D. in 1966.  In 1971 Ladder Co. # 4 was incorporated with Michael as a charter member.  Michael was elected and served as Lieutenant from 1974 to 1975 and elected Captain in 1976.  He then served on the Deer Park F.D. Board of Fire Commissioners from 1989 to 2003.  Michael remained an active member until his death.  Michael was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and V.F.W. 

Michael also had a love of antique and classic cars. He was a regular at local car shows.

To honor the life of Michael P. Carucci, visitation services will be held at Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home on October 5, 2023. The first visitation will take place from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM, allowing friends and loved ones to pay their respects. The second visitation will occur from 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM. Firematic Service will begin at 7:30 PM.

A Mass in celebration of Michael's life will be held on October 6, 2023, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church in Deer Park. The Mass will commence at 10:15 AM, allowing friends and family to come together and offer their prayers and support.

Following the Mass, Michael will be laid to rest at Saint Charles Cemetery in East Farmingdale. The burial service is scheduled for noon on October 6, 2023. This final act of love and remembrance will offer closure to those who mourn the loss of such an extraordinary individual.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us celebrate the beautiful memories he left behind. May his legacy continue to guide us as we navigate life's journey with the same kindness, love, and dedication that Michael exemplified throughout his well-lived life.

Rest peacefully, Michael. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
