Michael Joseph Castellano

Michael Joseph Castellano, a man of remarkable character and determination, passed away on July 15, 2023. Born on September 9, 1952 in Mineola, NY, Michael's life was filled with love, laughter, and a remarkable zest for life.

From a young age, it was clear that Michael possessed an entrepreneurial spirit. He established his own successful business as an electrical contractor, where he dedicated countless hours to providing exceptional services to his clients. His work ethic was unmatched, and his attention to detail was admired by all who knew him. Through his business, he not only created a livelihood for himself but also touched the lives of many through his expertise.

As much as Michael was dedicated to his career, his true joy came from the relationships he cultivated with those around him. Described as an amazing man who helped everyone, Michael had a heart of gold. He went above and beyond to lend a helping hand and offer support whenever it was needed. Whether it was providing guidance to a struggling colleague or going the extra mile for a friend in need, his kindness knew no bounds.

But above all else, Michael's greatest pride and joy were his family. He adored his children Christina, John (Amarilis), and Michael (Tara), who were the apple of his eye as well as his sisters, Sibby, Joy, Joanne His Brothers George, Ricky, Louie and Bobby. His love expanded even further with the arrival of his beloved grandchildren - Payton, Savannah, Ava, Michael, Joseph, Atan, Kayla, Kennedy, Madison, Makenzie and Michael.  

In his free time away from work, Michael had two passions that brought him immense joy: traveling and sports. He was an avid explorer, who embarked on numerous adventures around the world making memories that will be cherished for generations to come. Michael had an insatiable wanderlust that continuously fueled his soul. And when it came to sports, he was a dedicated fan who cheered on his son John who played professional baseball unwavering loyalty. 

To honor Michael's life and pay tribute to his memory, visitation services will take place on July 20, 2023 at Deer Park- Mangano Family Funeral Home in Deer Park, NY. Friends and loved ones are invited to come together to share stories and support one another during this difficult time. The visitation will begin at 5:00 pm and conclude at 9:00 pm.

A morning service, a Mass will be held at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church in Deer Park, NY on Friday July 21st beginning at 10:15 am and concluding at 11:00 am, followed by an entombment at Saint Charles Cemetery in E. Farmingdale, NY. This sacred ceremony will celebrate the faith that guided Michael throughout his journey.

Michael Joseph Castellano leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. His extraordinary character touched the lives of many and his impact will continue to resonate for years to come. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the countless ways he enriched our lives. May his memory forever live on in our hearts as a reminder of what is possible when we live with compassion and embrace every moment with joy.
