Michael R. Young

Michael R. Young, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, in West Islip, New York. He was born on November 7, 1955, in Queens, New York.

Michael was deeply loved by his family, including his devoted wife, Patricia Young, who shared in the joys and challenges of life with him. He was a proud father to his daughter, Eudora (Craig) Gutmann, and he took great delight in being a grandfather to his grandchildren: Rebecca, Julia, and Cj. The laughter and joy of these young lives brought him immense happiness, and he also enjoyed the precious moments he spent with his great-granddaughter, Ariella.

In addition to his immediate family, Michael is survived by his brothers, Kevin and Walter, who shared a close bond with him throughout the years. Their memories together serve as a testament to the love and camaraderie that family embodies.

Michael’s life will be celebrated with services held at Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home, located at 1701 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY. The schedule of events includes a prayer service on February 26, 2025, starting at 7:00 PM as well as a gathering from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on the same day. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor and remember this remarkable man whose legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.

He will be missed dearly, but his spirit and the impact he made on all who crossed his path will remain forever in our memories.
