Nancy Bagshaw

Nancy Lee Bagshaw, a beloved educator for the Bridgehampton School District and lifetime resident of the Riverhead community, passed away on October 23, 2023, in her hometown of Riverhead, NY. Nancy dedicated her life to nurturing young minds through her passion for teaching.

Nancy was surrounded by the love and support of her family. She is survived by her loving husband David Bagshaw, who shared in her joys and supported her endeavors both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to David, Nancy leaves behind her beloved mother Betty, devoted sisters Elizabeth Thomas and Emily Chizeber, and brother James Stewart. Her impact on their lives will forever be cherished.

Nancy's impact as an educator was profound and far-reaching. With a Master's degree in education, she possessed a deep understanding of her field. Her commitment to her students went beyond the classroom; she sought to instill a love for learning that would shape their lives for years to come. Nancy's dedication and innovative teaching methods left a lasting imprint on the Bridgehampton School District.

In remembrance of Nancy, a visitation event will be held at Church of the Redeemer in Mattituck on Friday, October 27, 2023. The visitation will take place from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, with another service following from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.  Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00am also at Church of the Redeemer. This will be an opportunity for family, friends, and colleagues to pay their respects and celebrate Nancy's life.

Nancy Lee Bagshaw will always be remembered as an exceptional woman who touched the lives of many. Her legacy as a role model and mentor will continue to inspire generations of students within the Bridgehampton community. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that her impact on the lives she has touched is immeasurable.
