Noel De La Motte

de la Motte, Noel, age 77, formerly of Canton, N.Y. passed away at Peconic Bay Medical Center, Riverhead, N.Y. on May 11, 2020 due to complications of COVID-19. Pre-deceased by her parents, Charles and Anna (Koldrick) de la Motte, she is surrived by her brother Charles de la Motte, his wife Jane, son Nicholas and daughter Anna de la Motte Tallerico all of New Jersey and her long time friend Carol Grzywinski of Jamesport, New York. A graduate of Bethpage High School, Noel earned a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY. An accomplished tympanist she toured Northeastern US and Europe with various orchestras and served as tympanist with the Catskill Symphony Orchestra in its inurgurial season. Her last performance was as guest tympanist with the Clayton Community Band in 2012. Noels passion was teaching. Her beginning instrumental music students ranged from elementry school through adulthood. In Canton, Noel was a mamber of the Unitatarian Universalist Church, an active volunteer and supporter of North Country Public Radio and the Canton Free Library. There will be no memorial service. Instead Noel wants everyone who knew her to extend all the goodness in life to everyone you meet. Be kind, be caring, share music and laughter, take care of each other and mother earth.
