Oreste J. Satriale, Md

It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Oreste J. Satriale of Dix Hills, Long Island NY, announce his passing on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the age of 96. Oreste will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ellen and his 5 children, Dr. Richard (Suzanne) Satriale, Dr. Robert (Gloria) Satriale, Donna (Ronald) Frank, Cheryl (Gary) Giustiniano, and Gail (Guy) Wolcott. Oreste will also be fondly remembered by his 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren children, and his older brother John T. Satriale. He was predeceased by his brother, Faust Satriale, father, Gaudioso Satriale, mother, Providenza Satriale (m. Albano), and sister, Lee Petrino (m. Satriale). Dr. Oreste Satriale received his medical degree from Middlesex University, MA in 1945 and soon after served as an Army Captain in the Korean War as a Staff Medical Officer from 1950- 1953 and awarded a UN Service Ribbon as well as a Korean Service Medal. After the war, he settled into General Practice and General Surgery in Massapequa and Deer Park, Long Island until the age of 87. As a caring, and dedicated medical professional, he provided many tireless hours of service to Mid Island, Central General, and numerous other hospitals on Long Island throughout his selfless career.
To pay your respect, the Wake Service will be held from 2– 4pm & 7 – 9pm, Sunday, June 18th at Mangano Funeral Home 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park NY. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish 175 Wolf Hill Rd, Melville NY at 9:30 AM Monday, June 19th with Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 10 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY.
